Jeff Browne, Executive Director

Jeff Browne is in his first year as the Executive Director of KSPA. In addition to those duties, he serves as the Director of the Kansas Journalism Institute and as a Lecturer in the William Allen White School of Journalism.
Prior to coming to KU, Jeff worked for 10 years at Colorado State University, where he served as: the Director of Student Media; adviser to The Rocky Mountain Collegian newspaper; Executive Director of the Colorado High School Press Association; and adjunct Professor in the Department of Journalism and Technical Communication.
Jeff taught high school journalism for nine years at Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, Colo. You can read more about him in his introductory blog post.
Amanda Roberts, Assistant Director

Amanda Roberts is a sophomore studying Strategic Communications within the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas. She is also pursuing a second major in Art History.
Amanda dedicates her time between school, work, and many on-campus activities. She is currently involved with the KU Blood Drive, participates in KU Tennis Club, and is a member of Margaret Amini Scholarship Hall.
She is a graduate of Emporia High School, where she served as Student Council president her senior year. She was a member of National Honor Society for three years, and played varsity tennis for four.
Bailey Reimer, Office Assistant
Bailey Reimer is a freshman at the University of Kansas, majoring in religious studies.
She was the editor-in-chief of the Shawnee Mission Northwest Lair yearbook in Shawnee, Kan., for two years. Her other scholastic journalism experiences include attending and assisting at numerous workshops, and competing in numerous contests across the country.
Reimer is involved with Alternative Breaks, Freshman Leadership Council, YoungLife College, is vice president of Arts Council at Hashinger Hall and works for ChaCha in her spare time.
She has worked with Kansas Scholastic Press Association since fall 2009.
Rowdy Wichman, Webmaster
Rowdy Wichman is a senior at the University of Kansas, majoring in Business. He is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Chinese. Post graduation, Wichman plans to attend law school.
In November of 2008, he served as live feed technical director for the PBS-affiliate pilot “The Dole Institute of Politics presents Neutral Ground.”
Wichman has served as webmaster for the KSPA since August 2006.
Claire McInerny, Communications Assistant
Claire McInerny is a freshman at the University of Kansas and the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Claire is a graduate of Blue Valley Northwest High School, where she learned from adviser Jim McCrossen everything she needed to learn about great journalism.
Claire’s main job with KSPA is to provide multimedia content for the KSPA Web site, and she’ll also help with the many other projects that KSPA undertakes.
