More than 1,000 Kansas journalism students from 67 schools learned from professional journalists, university professors and all-state advisers at the the Kansas Scholastic Press Association Fall Conferences.
The events drew students to the University of Kansas on Sept. 24, Wichita State University on Sept. 29 and Fort Hays State University on Oct. 20. Students toured college facilities and got top-notch advice about design, photography, reporting, digital storytelling, broadcast, student press rights and more. Fort Hays State even offered one student a $1,000 scholarship.
The Fall Conferences are a tradition aimed at getting students energized for the upcoming school year.
