Kevin Buie’s shot of a gymnast’s hands won the Shawnee Mission Northwest senior first place overall in KSPA’s October Photo of the Month contest.
Judges from the University of Kansas’ School of Journalism wrote this about Buie’s award-winning shot:
“I like that you found something away from the action that was interesting. The freezing of the chalk falling through the air is nice. Nice image, great composition!”
Buie’s shot also was judged the best sports feature submitted in the monthly contest. Buie is advised at SM Northwest by Susan Massy.
