KSPA is thrilled to present the Winter 24/25 Student Showcase, celebrating the exceptional work of student journalists across Kansas. From December through February, students from 13 high schools showcased their creativity and passion in photography, writing, and video journalism. After the Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team scored a point, gaining the lead in the last few seconds of the game, seniors TJ Meats and Julie Wheatcroft cheer Jan. 31 at Mill Valley High School. Northwest ended up losing the game in the last second to Mill Valley. “I was super excited when we scored [the final point] because I really thought we were going to win the game after that point,” Wheatcroft said. “I was in such shock when we lost because I thought that with only three seconds left we had already won.”
