Each year, KSPA publishes the winning entries from the State Contest to showcase the best journalism by member schools. The May 2016 contest at the University of Kansas was split into two parts: digital submission contests and on-site contests.
This year we moved the publication of Simply Better to this online gallery of images, designs and multimedia work. We will work to update the gallery in the coming weeks with editorial cartoon and yearbook theme & graphics.
Prompts for the contest were distributed to member schools about one month before the deadline for digital submission contests. On-site contest participants did not know the topic for their writing or cartooning until they arrived at the contest and read their prompt.
Looking for examples of the multimedia storytelling category? We have posted the 2015/2016 winners and their links (if active) here.
Please know that every effort was made to correctly cite the student journalists and their correct school, category and place in the contest. If you have a correction, please email us at [email protected].
