Allie Crome has been the adviser at Silver Lake JR/SR High School for four years. Before teaching at Silver Lake, Crome graduated from Emporia State University. Crome teaches a wide variety of journalistic subjects for 8-12th grade students at Silver Lake. Under Crome’s supervision, students in publication courses create the high school yearbook, newspaper, video production, and the K-8 yearbook. In addition to those courses, students under Crome’s supervision run Eagle Eye Photography, which is responsible for taking and distributing student portraits and sports photos. The most recent addition to the program is a live streaming team which provides broadcasts of sporting events to the community. Most of all, Crome enjoys inspiring her students to find and grow their journalistic passion, whether it’s writing, photography, or videography.
