Heather Springer is the newspaper and photojournalism adviser at Olathe South High School, where she has been advising since 2018. Springer has advised both yearbooks and newspapers in Kansas and Illinois. Springer earned her bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University and her master’s degree from Emporia State. She also continues her professional growth through JEA adviser workshops and the NSPA conventions, as well as through serving as a judge for various state and national contests. Springer took and passed the CJE exam in 2019 and plans to pursue an MJE in the future. Outside of journalism, Springer is a wedding photographer and a HIIT addicted gym rat with too many fur children and one incredible foster daughter.
