Sunflower Award

Kansas Scholastic Press Association is proud to announce the second annual Sunflower Award goes to Brandi Stout of Kansas City Washington High School.

This award recognizes a new adviser who shows enthusiasm and dedication to building a strong journalism program and aims to encourage him/her to remain in the profession.  The recipient of the award will receive a scholarship to a Kansas workshop, a plaque, and a complimentary one-year membership to KSPA.

Stout will be honored at the KSPA State Contest brunch on May 5 in Lawrence.

Sunflower Winners:

  • 2011 — Michelle Wilmes, Ottawa High School
  • 2012 — Brandi Stout, Kansas City Washington High School

2012 Sunflower Award:

The postmark deadline for applications is March 9, 2011.
